Liverpool u18s side have continued their great start to the season with a 3-2 win over Stoke City with a starring performance from Layton Stewart.
After starting their season with a 7-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers last week, Barry Lewitas side made it two wins out of two with the opening goal coming from Jake Cain after only 9 minutes.
Stoke scored an equalizer on 30 minutes after Lewis Macari who is the grandson of former Crewe Alexandra manager Lou Macari hit the post which was followed up by Ethan Varian.
Tom Hill picked up this third goal of the season just before the break to put Liverpool ahead, the lead was not to last long as Stoke drew level once more.
With time running out it looked like the game would end in a draw until the 88 minute with Tom Cain lofted a ball to Layton Stewart who would score with an acrobatic volley.
