Sell on clause holding up move

Liverpool’s bid to bring Marcelo Pitaluga to Anfield is being held up by Fluminense demands of adding a 30% sell on clause to the keepers contract.

Pitaluga is viewed as a future Brazil number 1 by Fluminense and with the club often finding themselves in financial trouble a sell on fee could be huge for them.

There is also a strained relationship with the two clubs after Liverpool had previously agreed the sale of Allan to Fluminense only to renege and sell to Athletico Mineiro instead.

The bid is still being reviewed by the Fluminense board but it remains likely that Pitaluga will complete his dream move to Liverpool and join his fellow Brazilians at Anfield.
