The season may have only begun but Liverpool now have a second bite of the cherry to pick up some silverware when they face off against last seasons Europa League winner Chelsea in the Super Cup.
And Andy Robertson for one is hungry to add to his Champions League winners medal that he picked up last season after a victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
“It’ll be an interesting game but we look forward to it and, of course, it’s another chance to hopefully get our hands on some silverware” .
“For this one, we’re there on merit and we won the Champions League to get there.”
“We don’t want to just stop at the Champions League, that’s all we’ve won as a group of players” said the scottish captain. “It’s the start of what’s going to be a busy campaign for us. Our ambitions are to go to the very end this season and that means we’ll have more finals.”
The loss of Alisson will sure to be a blow to the Reds with Adrian ready to deputise and possibly have Andy Lonergan on the bench, the game may also come too soon for Sadio Mane who only returned from his 19 day break last week.
