He only signed a new contract last November that would keep him at the club until 2023 but now according to French outlet Soccer Link Liverpool have opened talks on a further extension.
Mane who scored two goals yesterday against Newcastle United to keep the Reds top of the league has been in fine form since signing his last deal, scoring 25 goals and helping the club to a Champions League & Super Cup victories.
He has also recently discussed his love for the club amid speculation of a move to Real Madrid, saying in a recent interview
“To be honest, I’m really happy to be a part of the club, the family here,”
“We have the best fans in the world here, so I’m always so thankful for the support.
“It’s not just great for me too – it gives the whole squad more motivation to perform.
“It keeps us hungry to get better and better together – I really struggle to describe how happy I am to be here!”
According to soccer link the discussions are at a very early stage however they say the club are keen to tie him down to a longer deal with a salary increase.
