EFL Championship winners Leeds United have made an enquiry for Liverpool’s Belgian forward Divock Origi, according to reports via Mirror.
The 25 year old forward is looking to move on from Anfield this summer after failing to land a regular starting spot under Jurgen Klopp, he scored 4 goals in 28 league appearances last season but with the arrival Taki Minamino & the emergence of Rhian Brewster he has fallen down the pecking order.
Marco Bielsa’s Leeds are looking to bring in extra firepower this summer with Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard their top target but if that move fails to materialise Origi is Leeds next option, they are also interested in taking his Liverpool team mate Rhian Brewster on loan after he impressed during his short loan spell with Swansea City.
After scoring the winning goal in the Champions league final, Divock Origi will always be a Liverpool cult hero but if Liverpool were to receive a bid in the region of £30m it would be best for all parties involved in Origi was to move on.
While his style of play is not suited to Liverpool’s attack he has everything in his locker to come a top class striker elsewhere and if he was to join Leeds United he could go on to score near 20 goals in a season in the Premier League.
