Both the u18s and u23s kick started their respective seasons today with the u18s facing off against Blackburn Rovers and the u23s starting their Premier League 2 campaign against Tottenham Hotspur.

It was a much better day for the u18s as Barry Lewtas side ran out 7-1 winners against Blackburn Rovers will goals coming from Tom Hill (2), Layton Stewart (2), James Balagizi (2) and Jake Cain.

This under 18 side is much changed from the side who won the FA youth cup last season with the likes of Bobby Duncan, Yasser Larouci & Ki-Jana Hoever all stepping up to u23 football.

Starting line up: Winterbottom, Quansah (Wilson, 85), Norris, Savage, Koumetio, Clarkson, Hill, Cain, Stewart, Ritaccio (Corness, 85), Balagizi (Beck, 75).

Neil Critchley’s u23 side could not have a got off to a worst start in Premier League 2 as the went down to a 4-0 loss at home to Spurs, it was also a strong u23 side with the likes of Ryan Kent, Harvey Elliott & Rhian Brewster all starting.

While they had some decent chances to score most notably after Brewster played a one two with Harvey Elliott only for Spurs keeper Brandon Austin to pull off an impressive save, Liverpool will be hoping for better in their next game versus Chelsea.

Starting Lineup: George, Williams, Larouci, Clayton, Boyes, Chirivella, Elliott (Bearne, 70), Dixon-Bonner, Brewster (Duncan, 70), Jones, Kent.
