In our weekly feature we will look at all the Liverpool players who are on loan both at home and abroad and report on how they got on at their new clubs.
With this week being an international break not many of our loan players had an outing with their club, but one man who did was Shamal George who made his debut for Marine in a FA Cup tie against Stalybridge Celtic.
He provided a man of the match performance and kept a clean sheet as Marine beat a team who are a league above them to move on to the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.
He followed that up with another great performance last night against Trafford where he arguably again the man of the match but no clean sheet this time as Marine went down to a 2-1 loss.
Another of our players who is currently with a non league club is Rhys Williams, however he was busy playing alongside Curtis Jones for England U19s as they beat a strong German side away from home with Williams marshalling the defence.
Elsewhere in international football Harry Wilson fresh off being named Bournemouth’s player of the month started both of Wales games this past week, however Ben Woodburn had to be content with a place on the bench.
The only goalscorer of the week was Taiwyo Awoniyi who was on the scoresheet for Nigeria u23 as he helped them to a 5-0 win over Sudan which saw them qualify for the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Finally Kamil Grabara picked up a clean sheet as he helped Poland under 21’s to a 4-0 victory at home to Estonia while Liam Millar picked came off the bench for the last 10 minutes of Canada’s game against Cuba.
