In our weekly feature we will look at all the Liverpool players who are on loan both at home and abroad and report on how they got on at their new clubs.
We shall start as we normally do with last weeks loan player of the week Marko Grujic, after a positive start for Grujic it turned out to be a bad day at the office with Hertha Berlin losing 3-0 nil to Werder Bremen however Grujic was the closest to scoring, elsewhere in Germany Taiwyo Awoniyi is starting to get some more time in Germany coming on for the last 30 minutes of Mainz defeat, In the 2nd division Nathaniel Phillips helped Stuttgart to a clean sheet.
Meanwhile in Turkey Loris Karius made his return from a calf injury which kept him out for the last 3 weeks and managed to keep a clean sheet for Besiktas with some smart saves to boot, overall a positive start for the German.
In the Championship Kamil Grabara was yet again Huddersfield best player but while playing well he could not stop his Anfield teammate Ovie Ejaria from putting one past him as Reading ran out two nil winners, Ejaria was not the only loan player on the score sheet this week as Harry Wilson made it two goals in two games for Bournemouth with a beauty of a free kick against Manchester City & his Welsh international partner Ben Woodburn scored his first goal for Oxford United in League one.
Rhys Williams continues to impress with non league Kidderminister Harriers and I would expect him to play at a higher level next season, the same could not be said of Liam Millar who is off to a slow start with Kilmarnock, he is starting each week but is finding scoring opportunities hard to come by.
Loan player of the week: Ovie Ejaria – Reading
