In our weekly feature we will look at all the Liverpool players who are out on loan both at home and abroad and report on how they got on at their new clubs.
Monday 16th August:
Ben Davies & Leighton Clarkson joined the list of players out on loan as they join Championship clubs Sheffield United & Blackburn Rovers for the season meanwhile Anderson Arroyo made his debut for CD Mirandes when he came on for the last minute of their game against Malaga.
Tuesday 17th August:
A night to forget for Sepp Van Den Berg who scored an OG to send Preston to the bottom of the Championship table meanwhile Paul Glatzel found himself on the Tranmere bench for the first time this season and only came on for the last 20 minutes.
St Patricks Athletic missed out on the chance to go joint top of the Irish Premier league after losing 3-1 to Finn Harps, it would have been more if it was not for Czech keeper Vitezslav Jaros who pulled off a smart save to deny Babatunde Owolabi from getting a 4th goal.
Saturday 21st August:
In the Championship Sepp Van Den Berg was brilliant for Preston, he played at RWB, created a big chance and had a goal-line clearance to ensure Preston left with all 3 points.
Ben Davies made his debut for Sheffield United and looked very composed on the ball, he also blazed a ball over the bar in the 2nd half with United chasing an equaliser, another loanee making his debut was Leighton Clarkson who had a very impressive outing for Blackburn Rovers, he set up 1 goal and had 2 other key passes.
Finally in the Welsh Premier Jakub Ojrzyński had to take the ball out of the net 5 times as Caernarfon Town went down 5-3 away to TNS, it could easily have been more if it was not for the Polish shot stopper and to be fair to Caernarfon they are a part time club where as TNS are full time professional.
Players currently out on loan:
- Jakub Ojrzynski (Caernarfon Town)
- Vitezslav Jaros (St Patricks Athletic)
- Adam Lewis (Livingston) – did not play this week
- Anderson Arroyo (CD Mirandes)
- Sepp Van Den Berg (Preston North End)
- Paul Glatzel (Tranmere Rovers)
