Monday 26th July
Jakub Ojrzynski kept a clean sheet in Caernarfon’s pre-season friendly against a Tranmere Rovers select side, not much online on how he performed however a fan in attendance was impressed with what he saw.
Tuesday 27th July:
There was 3 reds in action on Tuesday night with Paul Glatzel starting on the right hand side for Tranmere friendly against Sunderland, he had a few opportunities to score but was unable to break his duck.
Adam Lewis was another who had a chance to score in Livingston’s friendly against Edinburgh City but blasted his shot over while Sepp Van Den Berg was impressive at right back for Preston against a strong Manchester City team.
Wednesday 28th July
It was a quick return to Liverpool for Jakub Ojrzynski as Caernarfon faced off against the Liverpool u23’s with the keeper have to pick the ball out of the net 6 times, it would have been 7 only for him saving a Sheyi Ojo penalty.
In other news CD Mirandes also had a pre-season game against Alaves however Anderson Arroyo was not involved and has yet to join up with the squad due to some visa issues.
Thursday 29th July
While no games were played, This is Anfield did announce they are sponsoring Paul Glatzel this season and they will donate £20 towards Fans Supporting Foodbanks every time he scores so let’s home he scores a bag full this season.
Friday 30th July
Sepp Van Den Berg started his 2nd game in a week as Preston finished their pre-season with a loss against Wigan Athletic, Van Den Berg played his part in Preston’s opening goal when former Wigan player Scott Sinclair crossed from the right, and Darikwa – under pressure at the far post from Sepp Van Den Berg could only turn into his own net and moments later he had a header just tipped over the bar.
Elsewhere Vitezslav Jaros was involved in a top of the table clash as his St Patricks Athletic side faced off against Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland, both teams went into the game joint top but it was Rovers who ran out 3-1 winners.
Saturday 31st July
Adam Lewis made his league debut for Livingston against Steve Gerrard’s Rangers, even though he played in midfield during his pre-season he was back to his usual role of left-back, it was not the debut he may have dreamed of as he give away a free-kick which Rangers scored from and was booked later on before being replaced after 55 minutes.
Finally both Jakub Ojrzynski & Paul Glatzel played their respective clubs final pre-season game as Glatzel got in 80 mins against Burnley and forced a clever save from Hennessy while Ojrzynski kept a clean sheet against Telford Town.
