The ink is barely dry in the Thiago Alacantara contract and Liverpool have turned their attention to another Bundesliga player.
Kabak, 20, is a Turkish international centre back plying his trade with Schalke 04 and has been compared to Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos.
“He’s certainly one of the most talented defenders of his age in Europe.” – Schalke head coach, David Wagner
Speaking to Bundesliga.com earlier this year Kabak spoke of his admiration of Reds defender Virgil Van Dijk
My personal aim is to become a top defender in maybe two or three years, like Virgil van Dijk. He’s my idol, I really like him.”
“As a footballer? I like his style and how he plays, so I can say he’s my football idol.”
The central defender is valued around £25m but with the exit of Dejan Lovren and the potential exit of Ki-Jana Hoever, Liverpool would have a centre back spot available.
More news is due to break soon so keep an eye on Manuel Veth timeline.
