According to Spanish outlet Sport, Dutch midfileder Gini Wijnaldum has already agreed terms on a 4 year contract with Barcelona with a fee of between 15-20m euros expected to be agreed upon with Liverpool.
Wijnaldum is in the last year of his contract and so far Liverpool have only offered the former Newcastle United man a 2 year deal but the player is looking for longer terms which has brought the negotiations to impasse.
With Ivan Rakitic & Arturo Vidal about to depart Barcelona this would leave Ronald Keoman with a spot in his midfield and he see’s his Dutch compatriot as the perfect replacement.
Liverpool are still hoping to bring in Thiago Alacantara but they may need to sacrifice Gini Wijnaldum to do so.
De Telegraaf a Dutch publication has now come out and supported what Sport originally reported on, that Gini Wijnaldum is close to agreeing terms with Barcelona on a 3 year deal with an option of a 4th and he should become Ronald Keoman’s first signing.
