Scottish champions Glasgow Celtic are set to lose their star striker Odsonne Edouard this summer and report from the Daily Star are breaking that they are eyeing Liverpool’s Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi as a replacement.
Awoniyi, 23, spent last season on loan at Mainz scoring just the 1 goal in 12 games, is available for a transfer this summer with Liverpool hoping for a fee in the region of £9m.
He has yet to make an appearance for the Reds after spending each of the last 5 seasons on loan, with spells in Belgium, Holland and Germany as he awaited a work permit.
Taiwo Awoniyi obviously does not have a future at Liverpool and after spending 5 seasons away on loan it is time for him to find a permanent move somewhere else, The SPL would be a great league for Awoniyi as it is comparable to the Belgian league where he did very well.
