Liverpool had a very quiet summer transfer window which has lead many to speculate that the Reds are saving their funds for a big signing in 2020.
Mbappe 2020 was soon on the lips of a many Reds, with even some suggestions that a possible kit deal with Nike could see the company pay for or partially pay for the Frenchman’s wages.
While a deal for Mbappe would seem unlikely the same could not be said of Jadon Sancho with there being plenty of reasons for Liverpool fans to get excited.
Unlike the Frenchman, Sancho is not playing in his home country after leaving Manchester City for Borrussia Dortmund in 2017 a return to England is likely at some stage and if he was to return to England surely it would only be to one of two clubs (Liverpool & Manchester United) with the player unlikely to go back to City.
Speaking of Sancho2020 on TheAnfieldWraps AFQ show, John Gibbons said the following
From what i gather Liverpool are very interested and they are talking to him, Liverpool look to do their transfers long term so there is not a specific timescale on it.
Their is conversations going on at the moment and they are positive ones with mutual admiration there between player and club”
Add to that the previous comments from The Athletic’s, James Pearce who has been asked about Sancho in previous Q&A sessions
As James revealed Klopp is a known admirer of Sancho and even previously tried to sign the player before he moved to Germany.
